Job Description

Job Title: Vice President of Business Development, Domestic Travel

Location: United States

Markets: United States, Canada & the Caribbean

Compensation: $100,000–$125,000 base salary + Commission & Performance Incentives

Who We Are

We are the only luxury marketing platform that unites data and performance, content and creativity, experiences and communications within one integrated ecosystem.

About our Travel & Tourism Marketing Services

Global Travel is being built as an integrated growth platform for the tourismindustry.

Travel is an integrated growth platform for the tourism industry and destinations are increasingly becoming consumer brands. Our approach extends beyond traditional public relations or destination representation: we bring together strategic communications, targeted paid media, performance marketing, experiential, travel trade engagement, content, partnerships, and market development into a single, integrated program.

Our clients increasingly require fewer fragmented agencies and more sophisticated partners capable of developing and executing integrated programs across multiple disciplines. Travel is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an executive who wants to help determine how far it can go—and who participates in the success they help create.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a proven tourism industry business development executive to help accelerate the next phase of growth of its Travel Marketing Services. This is a high-impact commercial leadership role for an executive who knows the destination marketing industry, understands how business is won, and has the relationships, credibility, and competitive drive to convert opportunity into revenue.

We are not looking for a traditional agency salesperson. We are looking for an established tourism executive who has spent more than a decade building relationships with destination leaders, DMO and CVB executives, hotel organizations, tourism authorities, and senior industry decision-makers—and who turns those relationships into meaningful, long-term agency engagements. The mandate is clear: build pipeline, open doors, create opportunities, and win business.

This role is responsible for expanding and scaling the Travel Marketing Services portfolio across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, with a primary focus on securing integrated marketing and representation contracts with destinations and travel industry organizations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the commercial future of one of our fastest-growing areas and participate directly in the success generated by that growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Business Development & Revenue Generation: Build and execute an aggressive business development strategy targeting high-value tourism accounts across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, driving revenue in 2027. Own the full commercial process from first conversation through proposal, negotiation, and contract execution.
  • Build a High-Value Pipeline: Develop and maintain a qualified pipeline of opportunities with defined account strategies—key decision-makers, budgets, procurement cycles, competitive agencies, and expected revenue potential—and give senior leadership clear visibility into commercial activity.
  • Sell the Full Power of our Services: Develop customized, integrated client programs spanning strategic communications, paid media, performance marketing, experiential marketing, travel trade representation, sales missions and road shows, hosted buyer programs, content, and market development—building larger, multi-year client relationships rather than single-service engagements.
  • Lead Regional Growth Across the U.S., Canada & the Caribbean: Identify and pursue opportunities with state and regional DMOs, CVBs, national and provincial tourism organizations, hotel groups, airports, and Caribbean tourism boards and ministries, tailoring the approach to each market’s procurement and commercial environment.
  • Build Executive Relationships: Develop trusted, senior-level relationships with DMO/CVB CEOs, tourism ministers and commissioners, CMOs, hotel and airline executives, and government and procurement leadership, representing The Interluxe Group with credibility and discretion.
  • Lead RFPs, Pitches & Strategic Pursuits: Monitor RFPs, RFQs, and agency reviews across target markets, and work with Travel leadership and subject matter experts on win strategy, competitive positioning, proposals, and executive presentations — proactively positioning Interluxe well before opportunities reach formal procurement.
  • Represent Interluxe Group in the Industry: Strategically represent The Interluxe Group at relevant conferences, leadership meetings, and industry forums with a defined commercial objective for each event, driving structured follow-up and opportunity development.
  • Deliver in the First Six Months: Build a comprehensive understanding of Global Travel’s capabilities within the first 30 days; establish active senior-level conversations and a qualified pipeline within 90 days; and produce new contracted business, along with a credible forecast for continued growth, by the six-month mark.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in destination marketing, tourism communications, integrated travel marketing, or tourism industry business development.
  • A proven, documented record of securing DMO, CVB, tourism, hotel, or hospitality contracts — personally opening senior-level relationships and converting them into meaningful agency revenue.
  • An established senior-level tourism industry network; a strong existing network within the U.S. destination marketing community is highly preferred, and existing senior-level Caribbean tourism relationships are considered a significant advantage.
  • Strong commercial instincts and experience selling integrated agency services rather than isolated offerings, with a sophisticated understanding of destination marketing.
  • Experience navigating complex RFP and procurement processes, with strong presentation and negotiation skills and genuine executive presence.
  • The ability to develop business independently, with a high degree of accountability and urgency.
  • The ability and willingness to travel frequently; must be based in the United States in a city offering strong domestic and international air connectivity.
  • A growth mindset: someone who is comfortable—and excited by—the strategy and operating within ambiguity as we build and scale the business
