Job Description

As a content writing intern you will collaborate closely with our international team of founders, researchers, marketers, strategists and other disciplines to identify what will be most critical to the success of the product.

You will leverage a user-centered and a market activation approach to (1) build our copy guide that will set the foundation of our mobile product (2) to conceive and deliver content for social and marketing campaigns and (3) craft our brand voice and personality to help establish our digital community.. This is a new role and one that will be instrumental as we grow and scale the team.

This position requires someone who is a strong collaborator who can work closely with cross-disciplinary, international teams. Although, we’re a relatively small company, so an entrepreneurial spirit and self-discipline gets you far in our book.

**Keep in mind this internship is for college credit, career changer, or as an experience-building opportunity and will be unpaid.

Skills & Responsibilities

  • Have skills in Social Media writing in addition to UX writing.
  • Help further define our company brand voice and create copy that clearly aligns throughout our product
  • Research and understand our user audience and their needs to inform product narrative and copy
  • Create content copy that will be impactful in engaging, retaining and leading users through the conversion funnel
  • Work closely with product, brand design, UX research to build a copy system alongside our design system for our mobile product
  • Handling large-scale requests along with single lines of copy, you’ll craft content for various projects at once.
  • Example of some tasks you’ll get to jump into:
  • Interface Copy: Manuscripts for sites and comps
  • Technical: Instructional copy with strategic CTAs
  • Long Form: Journalistic articles, impassioned manifestos and more
  • Concepting: Brainstorms and idea write-ups
  • Scriptwriting: Treatments and video scripts
  • Naming: Names and rationales for products, services, companies and more

Requirements

  • You’re a native speaker or have a high level of English, with excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills that can adapt to various styles. Additional language is a plus.
  • You have demonstrated outstanding organizational and creative skills in previous internships or university projects and are ready to take on the challenge to manage multiple projects. To be considered, include a resume AND portfolio and/or website link in your application with writing samples that demonstrate your skills. There is a preference towards projects that make it clear what the style, approach, impact and opportunities to improve were.
  • A digital native, active across social platforms.
  • A keen understanding of social platforms and formats, and how to optimize creativity to them. You’re able to see opportunities for content to improve how users perceive and interact with a product.
  • Experience working within a product team alongside designers, engineers and product owners.
  • Experience with using tone of voice guidelines for a consistent brand voice.
  • Strong research skills with a knowledge of online content strategy and creation.
  • The ideal candidate is currently pursuing or has already completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a university or an intensive course with a focus in writing for digital spaces.
