Responsibilities

• Creating engaging content for departmental social media channels.
• Helping maintain a consistent and active social media presence for the department.
• Assisting with outreach to current students.
• Supporting recruitment and outreach efforts for prospective students.
• Serving as a student representative of the department.
• Assisting with alumni engagement efforts.
• Helping develop student- and alumni-focused communications.
• Providing general support for special projects related to student engagement, outreach, and departmental visibility.
• Helping promote opportunities and resources for students.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at UNM.
• A strong written and verbal communicator.
• Able to work in-person in the Political Science Department.
• Background Check Required

• Friendly, professional, dependable, and comfortable interacting with a variety of people.
• Interested in connecting with current students, prospective students, alumni, faculty, and community partners.
• Comfortable using social media and interested in creating engaging digital content.
• Organized and able to manage projects and responsibilities with appropriate guidance.
• Creative and willing to contribute new ideas for reaching and engaging students.
• Able to represent the Department of Political Science in a positive and professional manner.
• Experience with social media management, Canva or other design tools, photography/video, communications, student organizations, event planning, or community outreach is preferred.
• Interest in public policy, government, politics, law, public service, or related fields is preferred.
