This team produces markets-, economics-, and tech-focused content across a range of media to support the firm’s fundraising, recruiting, and branding initiatives. The position offers the opportunity to work across the firm’s investment, strategy, and support teams in a collegial, collaborative, and engaging work environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:
- Manage the drafting and review process for content including white papers, speaking engagements and presentations, and short-form materials.
- Collaborate with individuals spanning the firm’s investment research and tech disciplines, as well as Investor Relations, Media Communications, and Legal & Compliance.
- Ideate, manage, and implement projects to support the team’s content sourcing, amplification initiatives, and infrastructure.
- Build relationships with stakeholders across the firm to identify and execute on new ideas for thought leadership.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher and at least two to five years of experience in roles requiring impressive analytical and research abilities, written communication, and project management.
- Academic or professional experience in finance, economics, statistics, or another quantitative discipline is valued but not required; a successful candidate will demonstrate learning agility and a desire to rigorously analyze a range of problems.
- Sound collaborative ability, commitment to high standards, and well-developed writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Individuals with a demonstrated ability to think critically, proactively drive projects, and work with colleagues across disciplines and seniorities will thrive in this role.
- The expected annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $185,000. Our compensation and benefits package includes variable compensation in the form of a year-end bonus and benefits including medical and prescription drug coverage, 401(k) contribution matching, wellness reimbursement, family building benefits, and a charitable gift match program.
The D. E. Shaw group is trusted by investors across the world to manage their assets by seeking the optimal balance of risk and reward. While we’re known as a pioneer in quantitative investing, we also have considerable expertise in areas that involve fundamental analysis or portfolio manager discretion. We use a combination of quantitative and qualitative tools to uncover independent, hard-to-find sources of return across global public and private markets.Founded in 1988 over a small bookstore in downtown New York City, the D. E. Shaw group began with six employees and $28 million in capital and quickly became a pioneer in computational finance. In the early days of exposed pipes and extension cords, tripping on a cable could take out our whole trading system. Today, the firm has more than 2,500 people around the globe and an institutional-grade (and trip-proof) infrastructure, but we still value creativity, entrepreneurship, and the spirit of discovery. If you’re an intellectually adventurous person who loves to collaborate on challenging and rewarding projects, we encourage you to apply.
