Job Summary
You will represent Unity of the 1,000 by distributing event flyers, engaging with the public, guiding them to RSVP via the QR code, and supporting on-site promotion during the Unity 5K event. You will help manage flyer distribution, document participation with photos, and assist with crowd-friendly outreach while keeping spaces clean and courteous.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Hand out event flyers in high-traffic areas around Prospect Park and nearby neighborhoods
- Briefly explain the event to people who are interested
- Encourage people to scan the QR code on the flyer to RSVP
- Represent Unity of the 1,000 in a friendly, professional way
- Keep an approximate count of flyers handed out
- Take a few photos during your shift for event promotion
- Join a team group photo when requested
- Keep sidewalks, pathways, and subway entrances clear
- Ask permission before leaving flyers at local businesses
- No selling and no collecting money
Requirements
- Friendly and comfortable approaching people respectfully
- Reliable and on time
- Comfortable standing and walking outdoors for about 3 hours
- Clear communication and a positive attitude
- A smartphone for communication and photos
- Interest in community, wellness, fitness, or hunger awareness is a plus
- Event, promotion, customer service, or outreach experience is helpful but not required
Salaries
Posted range
$22/hr – $25/hr
