Technical SEO & AI Search Manager

Responsibilities

• Developing and delivering Auto100’s SEO and AI-search strategy
• Increasing organic visibility for individual vehicles, makes, models and commercially valuable searches
• Improving Auto100’s visibility, mentions and citations within AI-generated answers
• Conducting technical SEO audits and ensuring recommendations are implemented
• Ensuring Google and AI-search crawlers can access, render, understand and index our website
• Managing XML sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicalisation, redirects and crawl efficiency
• Improving the indexing of new, updated, reserved and sold vehicle pages
• Implementing and maintaining structured data for vehicles, products, offers, dealerships, reviews and locations
• Working with developers to improve website architecture, mobile performance, site speed and Core Web Vitals
• Improving the content and conversion performance of individual vehicle pages

Requirements

• At least five years’ professional, hands-on SEO experience
• Strong technical SEO knowledge
• Experience conducting detailed technical SEO audits
• Experience working directly with website developers
• A strong understanding of crawling, indexing, rendering, canonicalisation, redirects and website architecture
• Experience implementing or specifying Schema.org structured data
• Advanced knowledge of Google Search Console and GA4
• Experience delivering measurable improvements in enquiries, revenue or sales
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The confidence to explain technical matters clearly to non-technical colleagues

Preferred

• Experience within automotive retail
• Experience working with e-commerce, marketplaces or large online inventories
• Knowledge of GEO, AEO or Generative Engine Optimisation
• Experience monitoring visibility across AI-search platforms
• Knowledge of Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow
• Experience with large-scale product or vehicle feeds
• Experience managing website migrations
• Understanding of CRM and offline sales attribution
• Digital PR and authority-building experience
• Experience managing employees, agencies or specialist suppliers
