TECHNICAL
AUTHOR
Full-time, office based permanent role
As an award-winning marketing and technical-services agency, we are seeking a highly-organised and detail-oriented Technical Author to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to help to establish, direct, develop and grow this new area of business for the company.
This is a key role with real influence. You’ll work directly with engineering, operations and quality teams to produce best-in-class documentation for our international client base. The Role
As Technical Author, you will be responsible for creating, managing and developing a wide range of technical documentation. You will ensure all information is clear, accurate, compliant and easy for end-users to understand.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, write and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including:
  • Operating, maintenance and installation manuals
  • User guides and online help
  • Systems and process documentation
  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Training materials and technical reports
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers and subject-matter experts to gather and translate technical information.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards, industry regulations and health & safety requirements.
  • Review and edit existing documents for clarity, accuracy and consistency.
  • Prepare documentation for both digital and print publication.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a Technical Author—ideally within engineering, industrial, product design or manufacturing environments.
  • Have a strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a drive to understand complex information.
  • Degree-level education in an engineering or technical discipline
  • Outstanding written English and ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and document-management systems.
  • Experience with online-help development tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet tight deadlines.
