Job Description
This position will work with the Plant’s Engineers and Team Leaders to prepare the candidate for full-time employment in a power plant. During this time the candidate will work on outage project planning, engineering design and review packages, and root cause analysis investigations while maintaining safe work practices at all times. Additional assignments will include time working with the maintenance and operations departments in attempt to gain a better understanding of power plant principles. Other specific assignments will be assigned based on skill set or training needs.
Intern Job Duties/Responsibilities
Working in a team environment to assist engineers in day to day activities including but not limited to:
- Computer skills–- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have good communication and Customer Service skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles
- Have the ability to understand procedures, programs, and standards within their area of discipline
- Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.
- Possess the ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Acceptance of an inclusive work and team environment
Minimum education required of the position:
- Must be actively pursuing an undergrad or master's degree in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering.
- Selected candidate must be classified as a Junior or Senior in college at the time of hire (Summer 2026).
- Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale)
