Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own PR strategy and plans for assigned titles from announcement through launch and live service (beats, assets, messaging, measurement).
  • Write and lock campaign narrative: key messages, press materials, Q&A, and spokesperson prep.
  • Run press operations end-to-end: pitching, briefings, interviews, review strategy/embargoes, and event/show support.
  • Build relationships with priority media and creators; expand reach in outlets that move players.
  • Drive alignment across marketing, community, studios, regions, and Xbox partners; manage approvals and launch-day cadence.
  • Lead agencies and develop the team; set scope, budget, and quality bar. Support issues/crisis response when needed.

Requirements

  • 10+ years PR/communications experience, including 3+ years leading PR programs and at least 1 direct report (plus agency partners).
  • Currently or most recently leading PR for major product launches in (games/entertainment/consumer/tech), including launch planning, media strategy, and launch-week execution.
  • Owns press operations: pitching, briefing, interview logistics, review programs and embargoes, event support, and spokesperson prep.
  • Manages agency scopes and budgets; sets measurable deliverables and reporting cadence (e.g., share of voice, message pull-through, sentiment, creator output).
  • Produces executive-ready writing (statements, Q&A, briefs, press materials) and runs approvals under short deadlines.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years games, entertainment, or consumer tech PR experience (in-house and/or agency), including creator + traditional media.
  • Owned or co-led PR for showcase, broadcast, trade show, including run-of-show comms and rapid response.
  • Comfort operating in a highly matrixed org; aligns PR with marketing, community, studios, regional markets, and platform partners.
  • Crisis/issue communications experience: drafts holding statements and Q&A, manages approvals, and supports media handling.
