Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
Serve as the primary sales and strategic relationship builder for congregations and organizations within the designated region. Work to increase Everence brand awareness, increase sales of Everence products and services via qualified referrals, deliver presentations including stewardship education, showcasing the mission and values of Everence in partnership with Financial Consultants.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Establish an annual plan to build sales revenue and referral opportunities from congregations and organizations, as well as their members, in coordination with the Regional VP or Managing Director and the Stewardship Resource Team leader.
    • Create awareness (Prospecting): Create and deliver presentations, sermons, and webinars related to Everence products and services that are most likely to result in increased sales.
    • Identify needs (Introduction/Fact-finding): Connect with congregations, non-profit organizations, and their members to discover their needs.
    • Propose solutions (Sales): Have a deep working knowledge of Everence products and services to guide potential and existing congregations, non-profit organizations, and their members to the right Everence consultant, service, or product to meet their needs.
    • Deepen Relationship (Service): Maintaining annual connections utilizing the Stewardship Ministry Resources and regularly offering customized consultations.
  • Coordinate with your Regional VP or Managing Director, Marketing Manager, and Stewardship Resource Team (SRT) to review progress toward sales/referral goals and institutional priorities.
  • Effectively promote Everence products and services to congregations and non-profits, generating leads toward:
    • Church and organizational employee benefits, including retirement services and health insurance
    • Congregational or organizational investment accounts (endowments)
    • Everence Credit Union services including bank accounts, loans, and MyNeighbor credit cards
  • Collaborate with the Customer Engagement Center to deepen relationships with prospective and existing congregations and organizations.
  • Keep updated records related to denominational and non-profit structures, main contacts, and annual gatherings to ensure Everence is aware of denominational and non-profit structures and shifts within churches/denominations.
  • Serve as a resource for Stewardship Partner Congregations by:
    • Increasing the number of Stewardship Partner Congregations within your market
    • Securing Cultivating Generous Congregation (CGC) and related events
    • Supporting the administration, promotion, distribution, and presentation of member benefits via chapter and faith community engagement
  • Regularly attend Stewardship Consultant team meetings and share feedback, product ideas, or needs.
  • Attain proficiency with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software (D365) and OnBase platform for workflows and file storage. Maintain updated activity, meeting notes, and referrals in the D365 system.
  • Serve as a connection point for local chapters, as assigned, supporting fraternal chapter activities, member benefits, and resources.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Possesses or willingness to pursue professional designations, such as Certified Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP), Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising (ECRF)

Experience:
Experience in sales, fundraising, or finance with a strong preference for previous congregational or ministry experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Expertise and passion calling others to action through sales, fundraising, planned giving, or related work
  • Expertise in personal/organizational finance, budget management, or related activity
  • Proven track record in building relationships that have a call to action
  • Belief in the mission of Everence, respect for our rootedness in the Christian faith through the Anabaptist tradition, and commitment to the stewardship principle that all we are and all we have are from God (Psalm 24)
  • Willingness to serve clients within the Anabaptist faith community, regardless of their specific faith expression
  • Excellent writing skills (i.e., grammar, spelling, attention to detail, delivery, and professionalism)
  • Strong public speaking skills for presentations in church and community settings
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively with leadership, your regional team, support staff, and colleagues on sales goals and institutional priorities
  • Ability to travel regularly within the team’s region and overnight as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and have the ability to learn additional systems (i.e., Dynamics, OnBase, Teams, etc.)
  • Bilingual skills are valued but not required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
SCHEDULE: Full-time, with some evenings/weekends, as well as regular regional travel and some national travel to be expected
