POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr Buyer, E-Commerce is a seasoned business manager with experience running multiple departments. The buyer will be responsible for addressing and managing E-commerce challenges and opportunities to support and execute strategic initiatives to achieve sales targets and maintain profitability across all managed Apparel/Lounge and Underwear categories.

The Sr Buyer, E-Commerce is a seasoned business manager with experience running multiple departments. The buyer will be responsible for addressing and managing E-commerce challenges and opportunities to support and execute strategic initiatives to achieve sales targets and maintain profitability across all managed Apparel/Lounge and Underwear categories.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Strategic Assortment & Buying
- Handle all aspects of buying for assigned departments and classifications, ensuring that financial targets and plans are met.
- Manages/oversees choice-level investment strategy by season, in close collaboration with Planning
- Collaborate with global merchandising and wholesale teams to create a balanced assortment in terms of brand appropriateness, fashion vision, quality, fit, value, price point, style/SKU count and key item depth.
- Partner with VP of Merchandising on creating and maintaining the Product Roadmap to help focus all cross-functional teams on product priorities and story-telling initiatives for the brand
- Partner with planning on managing the Open To Buy, taking action as necessary; recommending changes to reorders, pricing strategies, and markdowns.
- Analyze and report on product specific KPIs (e.g., sales, margin, inventory turn)
- Lead weekly divisional selling meetings with Planning partners and own recommendations and action items with CFT to drive the business forward
- Identify business opportunities to optimize onsite experience of product categories, partner with Site team to execute real-time Site Merchandising and/or PLP, PDP updates.
- Develop long-range product development plans for assigned category based on sound knowledge of category, company growth expectations and strategic goals.
- Develop assortments, and stay on top of current and emerging trends by performing market competitive analysis and finding inspiration from style and design sources
- Oversee Buying team’s creation and management of systemic buys
- Take lead role in cross-functional Milestone meetings (Hindsight, Budget & Strategy, Investment Reviews etc.), presenting in-depth analysis of total division; must be able to support and validate point of view with facts and analysis
- Strong participation in meetings with ELT and Leadership teams, ensuring that product strategy is understood and supported by all functions of the business
- Assist in management of PLC and ensure that team is on track to hit all deliverables
- Create and drive product testing strategies to read & react within the Ecom business but also to make recommendations to help grow other channels of distribution
- Responsible for growth and development of team of 1 junior buyer
- Monitor development and performance of direct reports through regular meetings to discuss performance and development compared to goals; maintain a dialogue regarding their needs and concerns to aid in future development and increase retention.
- Communicate with design and merchandising on best/worst sellers and whitespace opportunities within Ecommerce to thoughtfully differentiate the channel
- Collaborate with E-commerce content and marketing teams to ensure that merchandising objectives are supported and aligned with site content and marketing strategies.
- Partner with planning to develop effective class plans and pricing strategies
- Inspire cross-functional partners to act in support of product strategy
- Collaborate with cross-divisional counterparts to establish the campaign and launch calendar by season
- Collaborate with key cross functional partners to drive strategic seasonal business initiatives and product priorities through campaign planning, execution of category level initiatives and in-season optimization
- Minimum of 8 - 10 years retail buying experience with 2 - 4 years of direct e-Commerce experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Strong presenter with the ability to execute e-commerce strategic initiatives.
- Must be highly organized & possess strong analytical skills.
- Possesses the ability to think outside of the box and innovate to solve complex problems.
- Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Google Sheets
- Flexible to deadline demands, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
