Role Overview
Editorial strategy
- Editorial mission: To provide consumers with the most trusted, accessible, and actionable health education that drives better health decisions and patient engagement, and empowers providers and patients with timely, evidence-based education that improves clinical workflow.
- Target audience: Consumers, patients, and family caregivers seeking health information across various digital touchpoints, as well as clinicians, health system administrators, and care managers.
- Point of view: We advocate for the user. We believe health education should be clear, jargon-free, and designed for health literacy—meeting the user where they are in their care journey. Our content is "FHIR-friendly," interoperable, and "AI-ready," designed as modular assets for dynamic assembly by conversational and agentic systems. We believe health education should not be a static document but dynamic assets that surface at the right moment of care in the right format.
Process design
- Content lifecycle: You will collaborate on the lifecycle of high-volume assets, from research and intake to production. You will also collaborate on AI-assisted workflows, including metadata management and summarization in the content management system to continually increase the ratio of work automated with AI.
- Success metrics: Measure strategy effectiveness through feedback on content findability, gaps, gluts, and change requests. Success will also be measured by gains in efficiency and scale driven by AI-enabled orchestration.
Key Responsibilities
Substance & editorial direction
- Strategic roadmapping: Define the content themes and project priorities that align with consumer health trends, clinical health trends, and client needs for consumer engagement and patient education.
- AI & clinical auditing: Utilize agentic AI for automated governance, auditing activities, and programmatic asset mapping for both internal and external use cases. Leverage AI for automated clinical auditing and "drift" detection to ensure content aligns with evolving medical guidelines, automatically flagging outdated items for review.
- Market alignment: Engage with clients and prospects to understand their jobs to be done, translating them into editorial solutions to support “self-serve” use cases and EMR integrations.
- Product collaboration: Partner with UX and Product Managers to ensure content is "born digital"—designed to work seamlessly within modern application layouts, mobile interfaces, and clinical workflows.
Interoperability & Discoverability
- FHIR support: Partner with Content Integration and Knowledge Engineering to align content and metadata models, ensuring our library is "FHIR-ready" for EMR data exchange.
- AI Content Recommendations: Work with technical teams on AI-driven clinical decision support that merges encounter data with ambient AI transcripts to improve real-time content recommendations for clinicians.
- Content design: Work with the Knowledge Engineering and Search teams to identify "intent gaps" in our consumer and patient libraries and develop content that answers the questions people are actually asking online, as well as what our clients and their patients need.
Workflow & Operations
- AI Enablement & Product Integration: Lead training and enablement for team members and freelancers to incorporate AI agents and automations into every aspect of content strategy and development. Partner with Product and Tech on UAT and training for AI-driven products.
- Intake & prioritization: Manage the "front door" for new content and asset requests, using data to prioritize high-impact consumer health and patient education projects over other projects.
- Process improvement: Continuously partner on refining the content and asset production workflows to reduce "time-to-market" and "time-to-delivery" through AI-assisted automation of clinical and content tasks.
