Responsibilities

• Supervise clinical services in the Therapeutic Preschool and the Scott F. McLaughlin Speech and Hearing Clinic.
• Supervise graduate and undergraduate clinicians and graduate assistants in the Therapeutic Preschool.
• Teach undergraduate courses as assigned; may teach graduate courses in area(s) of expertise and experience.
• Teach discipline-specific courses; advise, mentor, evaluate student performance; maintain department and student records per university policies.
• Maintain and comply with activities and documentation to support ongoing program CAA accreditation.
• Participate in faculty meetings and program committees; collaborate with colleagues and professional peers; communicate with patrons.
• Assist with recruitment and marketing for the Therapeutic Preschool and SLP program.
• Adhere to the university’s educational philosophy and university policies; perform instruction-related duties in a timely manner.
• Possibly teach Signing Exact Language (SEE) with experience in American Sign Language; position preference to experience and credentials to teach SEE.

Requirements

• Master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement
• 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in the chosen field
• ASHA CCC-SLP
• Must hold or qualify to hold an Oklahoma license in Speech-Language Pathology
• Must have completed the 2 hours of continuing education on supervision required by ASHA

Preferred

• PhD is preferred
• Clinical experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), play-based therapy, early speech-language development, and challenging behaviors is preferred
• Current or potential ability in fluent use of sign language is preferred in addition to prior experience with children presenting autism spectrum disorder, speech and language disorders, and other developmental disabilities
• Higher education teaching experience is preferred
• Ability to maintain ongoing professional credentials and stay compliant with ASHA requirements
