Job Summary

Own the program and community engagement workflow for Southern Word with a focus on coordinating communications, tracking systems, events, fundraising support, and curriculum inputs to ensure scalable, relationship-driven impact.

Operations and systems: coordinate scheduling, data tracking, and tool integration across residencies, workshops, and programs.
Community engagement: build relationships with youth, families, partners, and mentors through events and communications.
Fundraising and marketing support: partner with staff and board to drive development activities and inform partners about activities.

Job Description

Support communications with youth and families engaged with or potentially engaged with Southern Word’s programs.
Support and implement administrative systems and tools used to track and analyze programs and relationship building.
Serve as coordinating support to ensure smooth and accurate functions of all Southern Word’s residencies, workshops, programs, and events.
Support development and distribution of marketing tools used to inform partners about Southern Word’s program and activities.
Effectively represent Southern Word’s work and values to the community in one-on-one, small group, and large presentation settings.
Facilitate and lead development and fundraising activities in partnership with staff, board, and volunteers.
Support activities that build community around Southern Word’s work and introduce the work to new contributors.
Develop and execute engagement activities for Southern Word staff and mentors.
Manage and enhance systems for planning and scheduling.
Serve as part of the team developing program curriculum and materials.
