Rehabilitation Center of Orlando is seeking a compassionate, organized, and dependable
Social Service Assistant to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting the Director of Social Services and helping residents and their families navigate their care, resources, and transition needs.
The ideal candidate is empathetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date department records and documentation
- Assist residents and families with accessing community, social, and government resources
- Support care plan meetings and discharge planning activities
- Conduct admission assessments for new residents
- Coordinate with nursing, therapy, dietary, and other interdisciplinary team members to support resident needs
- Respond to incoming calls, emails, and daily departmental communications
- Send care plan meeting invitations and maintain the department's discharge calendar
- Assist with Utilization Review tracking and related documentation
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Director of Social Services
- Assist residents and families with social, emotional, and care-related concerns
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and a resident-centered approach at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in healthcare, social services, long-term care, or an administrative role preferred
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams
- CPR certification and First Aid training
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Compassionate, professional, and dependable approach to working with residents and families
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
