Job Summary

Own the end-to-end short-form video workflow from concept to publish, focused on local business stories and vertical formats for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts; own on camera presence and caption optimization; turn analytics into rapid content iterations.

  • Content Production: Plan and shoot mobile-first videos, cut for short-form platforms, craft native captions.
  • On-camera & Collaboration: Appear on camera or interview locals, coordinate permissions and releases with brand guidelines.
  • Publishing & Optimization: Publish with accessibility-first practices, maintain media libraries, and iterate based on native analytics.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Plan, storyboard, and produce vertical videos featuring local businesses (quick interviews, b‑roll, day-in-the-life, product spotlights).
  • Shoot mobile-first content and edit for Reels, TikTok, and Shorts (strong hooks, pacing, native text/effects, captions, thumbnails).
  • Appear on camera or conduct on-camera interviews as needed; bring energy and clarity on screen.
  • Write engaging captions tailored to each platform’s best practices and trends.
  • Publish content and help manage a simple content calendar.
  • Track performance with native analytics; summarize learnings and iterate.
  • Coordinate with local businesses for filming logistics, permissions, and releases; follow brand/content guidelines.
  • Create basic still graphics and thumbnails in Canva.
  • Maintain organized media libraries (naming, storage, asset handoff).
  • Practice accessibility-first publishing (captions, contrast, alt text).

Requirements

  • You are a recent college graduate or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in the United States.
  • You currently reside in Los Angeles, have reliable transportation options, and are at least 21 years of age.
  • You have the ability to work up to 12 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • A portfolio or links to short-form videos you’ve shot/edited (TikTok, IG Reels, or YouTube Shorts).
  • Comfortable appearing on camera and/or interviewing others on camera.
  • Proficiency with a mobile editor (e.g., CapCut) or desktop tools (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, Rush).
  • Strong grasp of social trends, hooks, native features, and basic SEO for social.
  • Clear copywriting, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through on deadlines.
  • Professionalism with business owners and the public; able to work independently in the field, including occasional evenings/weekends.
  • Ability to manage multiple shoots and edits with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing content plans and platform best practices.

Preferred

  • Basic design sense (typography, color, layout).
  • Photography, light motion graphics, or experience with creators/community features.
