Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Content Creation and Collaboration: Capture, produce, and edit social media content, including events, interviews, on-camera segments, and short-form videos; work with editorial, design, and video teams to create engaging, social-first content.
  • Publishing: Use analytics to optimize strategy, and publish content across social platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of digital and/or social media experience, preferably with at least one major role at a news organization
  • Proven ability to build and grow audiences for entertainment content via social media, particularly among younger audiences
  • Impeccable news judgment, prioritization, writing and editing skills
  • Calm under pressure of breaking news
  • A strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
  • A strategic thinker who considers analytics before making decisions
  • An idea generator who can think of new, fresh ways to package content
  • Excellent people skills
  • Experience with SEO, content management systems, analytics tools, Photoshop
