We are seeking a Freelance Social Media Copywriter to help develop and bring to life a new whiskey brand’s tone of voice across Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and Facebook (secondary). This is a project-based engagement for a writer who can toggle between playful and irreverent and has an instinctive understanding of the Gen Z social media audience.

KEY JOB DETAILS:

• Location: Remote. NYC preferred.
• Employment Type: Freelance, project-based (potential to become a long-term contract)
• Timing: June to early July. Approximately 45 total project hours
• Rate: $50-$60/hour

SCOPE OF WORK:

• Develop the brand persona and tone of voice for a new innovations whiskey brand, alongside our account team and Social Media Strategist.
• Concept original social content series ideas in collaboration with our designer.
• Help deliver polished, client-ready presentations to present internally and to client stakeholders. 
• Collaborate closely with our internal account and creative teams to ensure all copy aligns with the overarching platform strategy and brand guidelines. 

YOU MUST HAVE…

• 3-5 years of brand copywriting experience, ideally at an agency or in-house for a consumer brand. 
• Experience developing brand persona and tone of voice guidelines from scratch for a CPG brand.
• Proven ability to write for humor-forward, irreverent, or personality-driven brands.
• Experience in copywriting for social media, with a deep understanding of each platform's nuances between Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok.
• A track record of developing social content targeting Gen Z consumers - you know what moves them and what falls flat.
• A portfolio or case studies demonstrating past social copywriting work.
