Job Summary

Own social media strategy and content execution to build engagement, leverage influencers, and provide cross-departmental support for campaigns and Spanish content where needed.

  • Campaign leadership: plan and run social programs that boost reach, engagement, and follower growth.
  • Content ownership: produce and curate images, video, and copy for multiple departments and sponsor activations.
  • Measurement & collaboration: analyze data, present insights, and partner with teams to align with national priorities.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and plan social media campaigns to increase likes, followers, reach, and engagement.
  • Generate, create, and manage all social media published content (images, video, and written) for all departments, including the Southern Tennis Foundation.
  • Be an advocate for USTA Southern and the Southern Tennis Foundation in all social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Strategically identify influencers/content creators and assist in outreach to grow the sport.
  • Manage all social media sponsor activation planning.
  • Identity and prepare collaboration proposals for social media influencers who are in line with the organizational brand.
  • Analyze, prepare and present social media data using reporting platforms, such as Hootsuite in an effort to maximize engagement results.
  • Support all departments in brainstorming and executing new and innovative marketing ideas through social media to reach section goals and national priorities including but not limited to increase in new participant recruitment, member retention and engagement, adult and junior tournament and league participation, coaching education and officials recruiting and retention.
  • Assist with special projects for the section which includes but not limited to the creation of marketing support materials and presentations for all departments and their program initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sports Marketing or related field
  • Experience in event planning and event details
  • Experience in growing and maintaining brand activity across social media platforms
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Workspace and Canva

Preferred

  • 2-5 years of marketing experience in youth, multi-cultural and/or sports marketing
  • Knowledge of video editing
  • Experience in writing website stories, magazine articles and copywriting/editing
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Passion for sports

Founded in 1886, the United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in this country. In addition to owning the US Open and selecting members of the U.S. Davis Cup, Fed Cup, Olympic and Paralympic teams, the USTA administers a variety of programs nationwide for players of all ages and ability levels. A not-for-profit organization, the association is divided into 17 sections, of which the USTA Southern is the largest. The 160,000+ USTA members living in our nine states account for approximately 25 percent of the total USTA membership. USTA Southern's daily operations are carried out by a professional staff based in Peachtree Corners, Ga., but policy is formed and much of the organization's work is executed via a Board of Directors and committee structure of over 200 volunteers.
