Job Title: Shopify Website Designer & Marketing Assistant

Location: Hybrid (1-2 days in-office in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville, FL, rest remote)

Job Type: Contract

Hours: 10-15 hrs/week (Monday–Friday)

Pay: $17-$20/hr

About the Role

We’re looking for a creative and detail-oriented Shopify Website Designer with a strong eye for design and a solid understanding of eCommerce best practices. This role is ideal for someone who can build and optimize Shopify websites from the ground up while also supporting broader marketing efforts, including social media and email campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Shopify websites from scratch using themes and apps
• Customize Shopify themes to align with brand identity and user experience goals
• Install, configure, and optimize Shopify apps for functionality and performance
• Update, maintain, and refresh existing Shopify stores to improve design, usability, and conversions
• Optimize websites for mobile responsiveness, speed, and SEO best practices including meta tags and other SEO tools
• Collaborate on branding, layout, and visual storytelling to optimize the customer journey across the site
• Assist with general marketing tasks, including:
• Creating and scheduling social media content
• Designing email marketing campaigns (e.g., Klaviyo, Mailchimp)
• Supporting promotional campaigns and product launches
• Analyze website performance and suggest improvements based on data and user behavior

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing Shopify websites (portfolio required)
• Strong knowledge of Shopify themes, apps, and customization
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Shopify Liquid (preferred)
• Experience with UX/UI design principles and conversion optimization
• Familiarity with eCommerce tools and integrations
• Experience with the Shopify email marketing platform
• Experience managing or creating content for social media platforms
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
• Must be located in commutable distance to Jacksonville, Florida

Nice to Have

• Experience with branding and visual identity development
• Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
• Knowledge of analytics tools (Google Analytics, Shopify analytics)
• Copywriting experience for marketing or product descriptions
