We are looking for a Project Manager with strong hands-on Shopify experience to join our team. In this role, you will lead e-commerce projects end-to-end and contribute directly to implementation when needed.
About the role
You will manage Shopify projects from initial scoping through launch, including new store builds, migrations, and ongoing optimizations. You will act as the main point of contact for clients and coordinate developers, designers, and external partners. Beyond classical project management, we expect you to work directly within
Shopify – configuring stores, adjusting themes, and implementing smaller changes yourself.
Responsibilities
- Manage Shopify projects from kickoff to delivery, including planning, execution, and quality assurance
- Configure and customize Shopify stores: theme settings, app integrations, navigation, collections, product setup, and basic Liquid adjustments
- Coordinate and review the work of developers, designers, and freelancers
- Serve as the primary client contact and ensure clear, reliable communication
- Identify project risks early and manage timelines, budgets, and scope
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and workflows
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience in project management, ideally in an agency or e-commerce environment
- Substantial hands-on Shopify experience: you have built, configured, and launched Shopify stores yourself
- Working knowledge of Liquid, HTML, and CSS
- Solid understanding of the Shopify app ecosystem and when to use custom development instead
- Experience with Shopify Plus, checkout extensibility, or store migrations
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (Jira, Asana, ClickUp, Notion, or similar)
- Structured, independent working style suited to a fully remote environment
- Fluent English; German is a strong plus
