Job Summary

Own the end-to-end video production pipeline for Castelion’s defense-focused storytelling, from on-set shooting and lighting to post-production, with a strong emphasis on technical accuracy, audience-ready storytelling, and brand-consistent visuals.

  • Drive multi-format content: plan, shoot, edit, and deliver brand films, product docs, executive communications, event recaps, and social cuts with audience-calybrated storytelling.
  • Own shoot planning and on-set execution in complex environments, collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure precise, accessible technical narratives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own the edit from assembly cut through final delivery: pacing, color grading, sound design, and motion graphics
  • Work across formats and lengths: brand films, product documentation, executive communications, event recaps, and social cuts; maintain Castelion's visual standards across all of them
  • Write to picture when needed: scripting, captions, and on-screen text that are accurate, tight, and calibrated to the audience
  • Shoot on location and in studio across a range of environments, including manufacturing facilities, test sites, and controlled or access-restricted settings
  • Handle camera operation, lighting setup, and audio capture with the technical rigor that complex industrial environments demand
  • Collaborate with the Senior Producer on shoot planning, ensuring creative intent and technical execution are aligned before the day begins
  • Deliver content optimized for the full range of Castelion's channels, including long-form web (YouTube) and short-form social (Shorts, LinkedIn, X); understand how format shapes storytelling decisions without letting it drive them
  • Create platform variants from primary edits, knowing when a reformat serves the work and when it doesn't
  • Use performance data as one input among many, informing decisions without replacing editorial judgment
  • Work directly with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure content reflects the technical accuracy and precision Castelion's products demand

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of video production experience spanning both shooting and editing, with a portfolio that demonstrates range across formats, lengths, and production scales
  • Demonstrated craft in cinematography, editing, and color grading with work that shows you can make technically complex environments look compelling
  • Deep experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and Lightroom
  • Demonstrated experience shooting in technically complex or restricted environments, including aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or comparable industrial settings
  • Fluency with motion graphics and 2D animation as storytelling tools, whether executed personally or in collaboration with specialists
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted production and post-production workflows and a clear point of view on how these tools serve, rather than replace, creative judgment
  • Extreme attention to detail without losing sight of the larger narrative goal
  • To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Preferred

  • Experience shooting with camera systems from Canon, Sony, Panasonic, Arri, and Blackmagic
  • Background in documentary, long-form brand, or editorial video
  • Prior work inside an in-house creative team at a technology, aerospace, or defense company
  • Familiarity with social analytics tools and comfort using performance data as one input into creative decisions
  • Familiarity with ITAR requirements and the operational realities of producing content in a classified or access-restricted facility

Benefits

  • All employees are granted long-term stock incentives as part of their employment at Castelion. All employees receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental insurance, and the company offers four weeks of paid time off per year.
