About the Opportunity

ICR, a leading strategic advisory and communications firm with a large, industry-leading practice in the technology sector, is seeking a Senior Vice President or Managing Director to serve as a senior member of its Technology Group and deliver corporate communications and financial communications strategies to leading technology businesses. This role provides superior client counsel to companies across industry sectors including artificial intelligence, data center infrastructure, enterprise software, SaaS, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and B2B technology. Top-tier media relations — including cultivated relationships and high-impact media placements — will be a priority for this role, focused primarily on national business and technology outlets

.This senior role serves as a team leader and strategic advisor across key clients. The role requires senior-level development of strategic PR programming, and drives the team’s execution of plans and campaigns to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate is highly proactive and able to work independently while effectively managing teams and generating client confidence. This individual will also be involved in pursuing and securing the significant amount of new business activity the firm enjoys.

ICR is a “hands-on” environment where senior team members oversee multiple accounts and also actively execute PR strategies on behalf of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Pitch, win, and grow new business opportunities — both in response to internally driven opportunities and through proactive, independently sourced prospects — as a primary driver of the Technology Group’s expansion
  • Contribute to the long-term growth strategy for the Technology Group, including building sector expertise, expanding the client roster, and deepening ICR’s presence in high-growth technology markets
  • Provide senior-level counsel to C-suite executives across a broad range of technology sectors, with particular depth in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data center infrastructure, enterprise software, cloud computing, and B2B tech
  • Provide hands-on account strategy, working closely with account teams to execute effectively and efficiently against client goals
  • Senior-level media relations expertise: understanding how to shape and place stories through a strong, established relationship network, with a sharp eye for developing executive profile opportunities and leveraging sector trends to drive client results
  • Partner with ICR’s IR teams to develop integrated strategy aimed at improving cross-sell penetration across the firm’s technology client base
  • Manage, lead, and mentor the Technology Group’s PR team, fostering professional development and a collaborative, high-performance culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sDegree
  • Deep experience counseling public company C-suite executives across a range of high-profile technology-related issues
  • Strong, proven network of media relationships across top-tier business, financial, and technology publications
  • Proven track record of securing top-tier media placements for technology clients
  • Hands-on knowledge of and/or strong relationships within currently high-growth tech sectors — particularly AI/machine learning, data center and digital infrastructure, and enterprise SaaS
  • Strong understanding of the capital markets and public company financial communications
  • Demonstrated track record of sourcing, developing, and winning new business, with the ability to independently drive organicgrowth
  • Experience mentoring and coaching a team in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Savvy, smart, efficient, fast-working, results-oriented leader with good intuition for problem-solving and issues management
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, high-growth environment
  • Superior written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 15 years of corporate communications, technology PR, and/or financial PR agency experience

Salary range:SVP - $175,000 - $200,000

Managing Director - $200,000 - $250,000
