Own the school’s social media voice and content engine across general and athletics channels, shaping strategy, executing campaigns to boost enrollment and community engagement, and leading photography for varsity athletics while maintaining privacy and guidelines.

  • Content Strategy & Delivery: Develop and execute cross-platform social that supports mission, brand, and enrollment goals, featuring campus life and athletics stories.
  • Content Production & Governance: Lead photography, video, graphics, and storytelling with consistent visuals, tone, and privacy compliance.
  • Analytics & Collaboration: Monitor performance, extract insights, and partner with Marketing & Communications and coaches to refine content and drive engagement.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage the school's main (Instagram, Facebook, & LinkedIn) and athletic (Instagram) social media accounts with a consistent posting schedule.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy that supports the school's mission, brand, and enrollment goals.
  • Capture and curate photos and videos of campus life to create engaging social media content that authentically tells the story of the school (via student life, academics, athletics, arts, community events, etc.)
  • Support admissions initiatives through strategic social media campaigns that showcase the school's distinctives, attract prospective families, and reinforce for current families the value of their investment in the school.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and support the implementation and adherence to the school's Social Media Guidelines across SCS-affiliated accounts.
  • Maintain consistency in messaging, visual style, and tone across platforms.
  • Uphold best practices for student privacy and permissions, including maintaining awareness of and adherence to the school's no-photograph student list.
  • Monitor social media performance using analytics tools, evaluate trends and audience insights, and provide regular reports to refine content strategy and improve engagement.
  • Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to integrate social media with broader communications efforts.
  • Serve as a lead photographer for all varsity athletic teams; assist with photography for other school activities/events as needed.
  • Create weekly game schedules, score graphics, and other social media graphics for all varsity athletic teams.
  • Develop engaging content to highlight student-athlete achievements, team milestones, and athletic department news.
  • Capture and share multimedia content (photos, videos, reels, stories) to promote athletics across social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with coaches and athletic staff to tell the story of each team and enhance community engagement.
  • Maintain an organized archive of athletic photography and media for promotional uses and for sharing with families.
  • Identify compelling stories within the school community and write news stories to highlight achievements, programs, and events.
  • Assist with website content updates and maintenance to ensure information is current and engaging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in social media management and storytelling, preferably in a school, ministry, or nonprofit setting.
  • Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School. Willing to enroll eligible children at Southside Christian School
  • Must be able to articulate a deep understanding of a biblically informed philosophy of Christian education.
  • Strong knowledge of and enthusiasm for athletics.
  • Strong photography skills, including experience using modern full-frame cameras to capture professional-quality images.
  • Proficiency with social media and content creation tools such as Canva, Gipper, Splice, CapCut, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond quickly and appropriately.
  • High level of motivation with a commitment to producing high-quality work and taking initiative on projects and tasks.
  • High level of enthusiasm, demonstrating energy, passion, and engagement in daily responsibilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships, collaborate effectively, and receive constructive feedback.
