The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.
Key Responsibilities
The Industry Intelligence Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and forecasting developments across the end-to-end value chain, including suppliers, competitors, customers, manufacturing, logistics, technology, and market dynamics. The role delivers actionable intelligence that supports strategic planning, risk management, supply chain optimization, product strategy, and business growth.
The analyst combines market research, financial analysis, and operational data to identify opportunities, threats, cost drivers, and emerging trends affecting the organization’s competitive position. This role tracks and reports on the key trends to repeatably deliver an understanding of the industry segments and total glass demand to integrate into volume and financial forecasts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
MBA or advanced analytical coursework is a plus.
Experience in competitive intelligence, market intelligence, strategy, supply chain analytics, consulting, or related fields a plus.
Experience working with manufacturing, industrial, technology, or materials industries preferred.
Demonstrated rigor in documenting assumptions, drivers, and changes - version-controlled or auditable working files.
Strong analytical skills - able to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and draw defensible conclusions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills - able to explain modeling choices to non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze industry trends, customer demand patterns, and emerging technologies for key product and segments of the business
Develop intelligence reports, dashboards, and executive briefings that provide an end-to-end view of the industry value chain
Build and maintain insights to estimate key business metrics such as glass volume and segment share
Support long-range planning, forecasting, and scenario analysis
Monitor geopolitical, regulatory, and environmental developments affecting supply chains
Travel
Domestic and international travel may be required (up to 10%).

The range for this position is $97,314.00 - $133,808.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
