Job Summary

Own and drive Crusoe’s strategic communications program across data center development, energy, and real estate, partnering with DIG, Public Affairs, and Legal to tell compelling stories, manage risks, and demonstrate measurable impact.

  • Lead a cross-functional media relations and narrative development effort
  • Own measurement, reporting, and optimization of PR outcomes

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • News Engine: Drive a strategic news program that demonstrates momentum across Crusoe's data center development, energy, and real estate work — turning our buildout into a consistent cadence of high-impact moments.
  • Media and Influencer Relations: Build and maintain direct relationships with journalists across infrastructure, energy, real estate, technology, and financial media. You must be able to pitch and place stories independently; we need a practitioner who can "hunt" and isn't solely reliant on agencies.
  • Community & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner closely with our Public Affairs and Government Affairs teams to support community engagement in the markets where we build — ensuring local audiences, officials, and stakeholders understand Crusoe's investment and impact.
  • Narrative Development: Partner with subject matter experts across DIG, Energy, and Real Estate to sharpen messaging — translating complex topics across site development, power, construction, and data center operations into compelling stories for a range of audiences.
  • Thought Leadership: Work with Crusoe's bench of spokespeople to develop and place high-impact op-eds, keynote scripts, and social content that secures Crusoe's position as a leader in AI infrastructure development.
  • Issues Management: Monitor the media and community landscape closely and coordinate timely, strategic responses to industry shifts, local dynamics, and challenges — protecting Crusoe's brand and reputation in a quickly shifting environment.
  • Agency Management: Help manage our PR agency relationships day-to-day focused on your line of business — setting clear priorities, holding teams accountable to outcomes, and ensuring resources are deployed against the highest-value opportunities.
  • Measurement: Own communications reporting. You will track coverage, share of voice, and program outcomes, using data to continuously improve strategy and demonstrate impact.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years in communications or public relations, with a demonstrated track record of securing press results at top-tier outlets.
  • AI-First Mindset: You don't just talk about AI; you use it daily. You have integrated AI into your workflows — from deploying agents to automate tasks to using LLMs for research and drafting — and you adopt new tools as they emerge.
  • Domain Expertise: Experience working in data center construction/development, energy, infrastructure, real estate, or AI industries is strongly preferred.
  • Media Relations Expert: You have real, working relationships with journalists and influencers. You know how to pitch, place, and protect a narrative on your own.
  • Exceptional Writer: Especially in today's AI-first world, your ability to write with nuance, clarity, and human insight is non-negotiable.
  • High-Agency: You are comfortable executing with limited resources and high ambiguity. You proactively identify opportunities and build the plan without waiting for a roadmap.
  • Collaborative & Low Ego: You know how to build trust across functions (DIG, Energy, Real Estate, Public Affairs, Legal) and move fast without stepping on toes. We're a lean team with no room for egos.
  • Results-Oriented: You are metrics-driven and accountable, with a track record of turning communications efforts into measurable business outcomes.

Preferred

  • Domain Expertise: Experience working in data center construction/development, energy, infrastructure, real estate, or AI industries is strongly preferred.
