Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Review in-scope RFP documents to identify Clinical questions and provide summary of findings to proposal writers.
- Respond to identified questions using standard proposal database responses, engaging SMEs or accessing information from various internal and external sites.
- Manage multiple RFP deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Edit responses obtained from SMEs in accordance with UnitedHealthcare's Proposal Style Guide and corporate voice.
- Comprehend each customer's needs and customize responses, as applicable, to deliver maximum value to our internal and external customers.
- Manage assigned proposal database library using Qvidian software to support evolving business needs.
- Write, edit and update proposal content overviews, responses and writer guides.
- Build and manage relationships with SMEs and other business partners to proactively ensure the quality and accuracy of content on an ongoing basis and as part of the annual review process.
- Meet minimum quality, productivity and service metrics.
- Develop high level of expertise and depth of knowledge on assigned topics/categories and possess the ability to educate proposal writers on content and/or sources of information available to them.
- Become proficient with UHG's products/offerings to better support team needs.
- Collaborate with and receive direction from the Proposal Content Team Manager, Team Lead and Pod Lead by applying best practice editorial and content manager processes.
- Support activities focused on increasing adoption, utilization, usability and user satisfaction for database structure and ease of use. Identify and deliver training/education in support of these activities.
- Collaborate with UnitedHealth Group service units and sister companies to assure database integrity as well as appropriate language and overall messaging.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of health care industry experience in a proposal development role (content mgmt., proposal writing, business development, proposal quality review)
- 3+ years of experience writing, editing, oral and interpersonal communication skills within a business setting
- 3+ years of experience with project management and ability to deliver results as part of a team and/or as an individual contributor
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint (formatting experience and/or working with templates)
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Journalism, English, Communications or related field
- Qvidian Proposal Automation software experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, including prompt writing and AI-assisted productivity in Microsoft 365.
- Solid Web-based communications and content management system experience.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and deliver multiple tasks efficiently, effectively and on time in a metrics-based organization
- Proposal and/or clinical/wellness experience
