Job Summary

Own crisis and reputation work for complex client portfolios, balancing day-to-day delivery with crisis playbooks, scenario planning, and rapid response messaging across traditional and social channels.

  • Crisis readiness ownership: craft playbooks, scenario plans, simulations and drills.
  • Messaging for high-stakes events: draft talking points, holding statements, Q&As, news releases, social content.
  • Monitoring and research: maintain knowledge base and benchmark peers to sharpen responses.

Job Description

  • Lead day-to-day client activities, projects and deliverables to advance clients’ business and reputation goals.
  • Contribute to crisis and risk preparedness strategies by developing crisis playbooks, scenario plans and simulation exercises.
  • Support issues and crisis management and response through drafting communications materials including messaging, holding statements, talking points, Q&As, news releases, social content and fact sheets.
  • Research and monitor clients’ business and industry to maintain a knowledge base and benchmark peer organizations’ approaches to issues and crisis management
  • 3-4+ years of communications experience, including at least 2 years in issues & crisis management, in agency and/or in-house roles.
  • Expertise crafting crisis communications and scenario plans with clear understanding of critical plan elements and stakeholder audiences.
  • Ability to stay composed in high-pressure situations and handle high-priority matters with poise.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and refine messaging and materials through strong prompting skills.
  • Understanding of modern channel strategy across traditional media, owned digital, social, and other channels to reach key stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication, translating complex issues into stakeholder-ready messages.
  • Specific crisis communications counsel in active crisis situations; experience with sports and consumer brands.
