Job Summary

Own the system wide communications engine from corporate, media, investor relations and crisis comms to executive messaging and government relations while coordinating with hospital leadership and the Prime Healthcare Foundation.

  • Corporate Communications & Crisis Ops: own corporate and executive messaging, media relations, investor communications and crisis communications.
  • Stakeholder & Government Engagement: drive government relations, community PR, sponsorships, foundation work, and hospital-wide communications alignment.
  • Brand, Digital & Internal Enablement: steer website, digital marketing and social media strategy and internal communications across the network.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Communications & Crisis Ops: develop and deploy corporate communications, media relations, investor communications and executive messaging, including crisis communications and employee communications.
  • Stakeholder & Government Engagement: coordinate government relations support, community PR activities, corporate sponsorships, Prime Healthcare Foundation initiatives, and enable hospital leadership communications.
  • Brand, Digital & Internal Enablement: oversee website development, digital marketing and social media strategy, and internal communications alignment across the system.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
  • 10+ years of effective communications success in a healthcare delivery setting; 10+ years’ leading and executing communications function at the c-suite level.
  • A successful track record of effectively communicating with senior level executives, board members, physician leaders, elected officials, and key community stakeholders.
  • Excellent writing skills for a variety of audiences.
  • Relationship building with local and national media; Becker’s Healthcare, Modern Healthcare included.
  • Demonstrated results leading corporate and regional communications, executive communications, crisis communications, media relations and public relations, as well as labor related communications.
  • A hands-on, working leader who develops materials under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, planning and leadership skills; diplomatic with cross-system relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a large, complex (matrixed) national health system
  • Experience with investor relations
  • Experience and knowledge in government relations and working with elected officials and key stakeholders
  • Connections with national news media in key markets (LA, NYC, Midwest)
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, Journalism
