Quality & Operational Excellence Leader (Interim / SME)
Our client is looking for an experienced Quality & Operations SME to support manufacturing organizations in stabilizing quality systems, improving operational performance, and driving measurable results (on a 1099 basis).
This role blends Quality Management leadership with Industrial Engineering and operational improvement expertise; ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and delivering rapid impact.
What You’ll Do
• Lead or stabilize Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar) and support internal/external audits
• Drive structured problem solving using tools like CAPA, 5-Why, Ishikawa, and A3
• Implement and improve quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, control plans, and statistical analysis
• Support S&OP and production planning, balancing demand, capacity, and operational constraints
• Lead process improvement initiatives including facility layout changes, process flow optimization, and line balancing
• Apply Lean methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, time studies, standard work, and waste reduction
• Deliver measurable improvements in yield, scrap reduction, throughput, and customer quality performance
What We’re Looking For
• Strong experience in manufacturing quality leadership
• Hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement mindset
• Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, Excel modeling, or operational dashboards
• Ability to quickly assess operations and implement practical improvements
