Job Description

Responsibilities

  • As an HBG Publicity and Marketing intern at Timber, you will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks, help with special projects, and attend departmental meetings.
  • The Publicity and Marketing Intern will work with the broader Publicity and Marketing Department to learn skills and fundamentals of creating and implementing book campaigns.
  • The Publicity and Marketing Intern will work with the team on social media content, research for media coverage, pitch material creation, departmental system maintenance, and other departmental projects as needed.
  • Work with Team Social Media to create seasonal and book-specific social media campaigns.
  • Help Schedule posts and content for social media channels; flag issues for follow up
  • Event and Influencer research
  • Materials creation including press releases, media lists, influencer spreadsheet, and publicity plans
  • Administrative support as needed

Requirements

  • Interested in exploring a career in nature and non-fiction publishing
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic and excited about discussing recent books you’ve read
  • Possess a great attitude and a desire to learn as well as excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute insights
  • Resourceful with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and work independently
  • Must be results driven, and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • familiarity with Asana a plus
