Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Implement the US Attorney's Office's social media program with an emphasis on planning for and managing communications on social media platforms
  • Develop and guide the communication of the USAO's themes and messages using social media platforms. Manages, edits, and recommends approval of daily content and interactions on social media platforms, which may include Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram, Google+, Yammer, LinkedIn, Vimeo, X, etc.
  • Oversee the execution of social media strategies and plans.
  • Provides direction and guidance to USAO staff by guiding and directing social media inclusion in public affairs plans
  • Perform as the USAO's subject matter expert on social media issues, developments, and policies.
  • Provide strategic planning recommendations and social media contact concerning exercises and real-world operations, crisis communication incidents, and other major internal and external audience communication efforts
  • Provide guidance to leadership on the planning and execution of information campaigns using social media. Write and present decision/information papers and briefings to the senior leadership as directed.
  • Work with various other federal, state or local agencies to coordinate social media best practices and policies
  • Plan, direct, and execute statewide and national campaigns to convey complex and controversial information concerning the USAO's initiatives, programs, and operations.
  • Plan, initiate, and implement comprehensive public affairs campaigns to enhance the understanding of the USAO's initiatives among the public and specialized groups and organizations

Requirements

  • 2 year college degree or higher
  • Minimum of at least 1 year experience in public relations
  • Ability to use, understand, and maintain directories, personnel lists, and other guides and references to provide a variety of information on the office and to refer questions to other offices.
  • Computer Skills: Must have the ability to perform basic functions in software applications such as Microsoft (MS) Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat, and possess basic data entry skills while working with databases and specialized office systems.
  • Communication skills: Must work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff. Ability to meet established deadlines, follow attorney instructions, and work as a team player in a professional office. Skill in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen. Must have the ability to prove U.S. citizenship.
  • Security Requirement: Successfully pass a Background Investigation (BI).
  • Reference Requirement: Provide at least three (3) professional references that can provide work related information to the type of work described in this position.
