  • Content & Events: Produce promotional materials and oversee website content and staff speaking engagements.

Responsibilities

  • News & Public Affairs: Oversee preparation of news articles and press releases and respond to public/media inquiries.
  • FOIA & Inquiries: Coordinate response to FOIA requests.
  • Website & Digital: Prepare materials for updating the website and oversee the updates of all OBM websites and webpages.
  • Social Content: Prepare all materials for posting on social media.
  • Community Engagement: Support community engagement activities of the office.
  • Publications & Materials: Prepare and oversee content creation, including graphics for newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, and websites.
  • Events & Meetings: Coordinate and attend meetings and conferences to inform community groups and business organizations of upcoming events.
  • Data & Confidentiality: Access confidential and sensitive data and communication materials.
  • Promotional Materials: Design and coordinate the production of promotional materials including banners and posters.
  • Publications Support: Oversee and provides technical assistance to staff engaged in preparing and disseminating departmental publications.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years of work experience in the preparation and dissemination of public information, OR
  • Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English or a directly related field, plus five (5) years of work experience in the preparation and dissemination of public information, OR
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or a directly related field, plus three (3) years of experience in the preparation and dissemination of public information , OR
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree or higher in Journalism, Communications, English or a directly related field, plus two (2) of experience in the preparation and dissemination of public information
