Job Summary
Own race week and race day celebrity PR coordination, aligning logistics, interviews, travel, and on-site guest management for Grand Marshals and VIPs.
- Coordinate pre-race interviews with NYRR PR and external agencies and manage Celebrity travel for NYC events.
- Staff and escort Grand Marshals across start/finish line activities and VIP hospitality on race day.
- Collaborate in cross-functional PR planning and meetings to align on events, appearances, and related projects.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Support PR team in planning and organizing logistics for the Grand Marshal’s race-week and race-day events and activities, including press interviews and event appearances
- Work with NYRR PR team and external PR agency to coordinate and schedule pre-race Grand Marshal interviews
- Coordinating travel to/from New York City for Celebrity/Honorary Grand Marshals
- Participate in internal meetings with Grand Marshal working group, PR team, event leads, PR agency team members, etc.
- Escort/staff Celebrity/Honorary Grand Marshals for any appearances/interviews
- Support other PR-related projects as needed
- RACE-DAY – responsibilities include: Coordinate/staff Celebrity/Honorary Grand Marshals for full day of activities at the Start and Finish lines, and VIP Hospitality
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in public relations, production, event operations, and/or talent management required
- Experience working with celebrities / talent / principals is required
- Experience in events is required; large-scale events preferred
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in English, public relations, communications, journalism, sports management, or related field preferred
