Job Summary

  • Own the editorial calendar, social publishing, and content design across videos, posts, blogs, and campaigns.
  • Lead public engagement through Speakers Bureau, community meetings, and events with weekend support when needed.
  • Coordinate media inquiries, provide timely responses, and train speakers for external interviews.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to implement the Board’s communication and marketing strategy through multiple channels including electronic and print media, traditional media, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure all informational and promotional materials are accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the department Editorial Calendar and manage a regular social content publishing schedule using tools that maximize efficiency.
  • Develop and design content as directed, including videos, photos, social media posts, advertisements, website content, blogs, podcasts, presentations, promotional materials, and displays.
  • Edit, proofread, and distribute internal communications and public awareness materials such as newsletters and flyers.
  • Increase public awareness of the agency’s efforts and programs through the Speakers Bureau, public and community meetings, and support of agency, departmental, and community events, which may include weekends.
  • Monitor issues related to the agency and disability via social and traditional media; communicate issues and concerns to supervisor promptly.
  • Ensure accurate and timely responses to queries with proper approval.
  • Assist in facilitating the agency Speakers Bureau by identifying community engagement opportunities, training speakers, and creating presentations.
  • Support the development and distribution of the agency Consumer Satisfaction Survey and assist in compiling results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in public relations.
  • Proficiency in journalistic writing and editing, photography, video production, and graphic design is required.
  • Knowledge of accessible communication practices and a willingness to learn and use a screen reader.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
