Job Summary

Own the public relations workflow for the Museum by coordinating media coverage, managing assets, and executing targeted outreach across events, while leveraging strong writing and relationship-building to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • Track metrics and produce weekly reporting on press activity

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver public relations content and materials
  • Aid in coordinating/facilitating media coverage at numerous Museum events, including exhibit openings, donation ceremonies, benefit concerts, press tours and more
  • Oversee online department media assets
  • Help facilitate press tours with Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, Geiger International, as well as with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development
  • Field film requests and coordinate onsite shoots including overall planning details such as production/technical needs, space reservations, parking, etc.
  • Work with teams to service upcoming events weekly to listing editors
  • Submit listings to event websites
  • Facilitate database updates, maintenance, and research for targeted communications lists
  • Maintain department calendar
  • Create weekly department reports highlighting press hits

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, English or related field
  • Two years of PR experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office package, including Word and Excel
  • Most importantly, this job requires excellent oral and written communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to plan ahead while juggling multiple, fluid short- and long-term priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • PR Agency or non-profit experience
  • Engagement with museums
  • General understanding of the music industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior verbal and written (writing and editing) communication skills to enable effective internal and external communication
  • Experience simultaneously managing multiple projects
