Responsibilities

• Strong written and oral communication is an essential part of this role.
• Craft a range of content including data-driven blog articles, website copy, pitches, newsletter copy, and more.
• Hands-on work collecting, analyzing, and verifying U.S. and Canadian real estate market data for the internal team and consumers.
• Assist junior team members in defining and executing the methodology of data-driven articles.
• Provide editorial support including fact-checking, correcting spelling and grammatical errors, and ensuring all content reflects Zoocasa’s brand voice.
• Research industry trends to assist in the development of comprehensive PR and content strategies aligned with overall business goals.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists across the U.S. and Canada.
• Compile media lists and assist with editorial planning as needed.
• Write and distribute pitches that are informative and engaging.
• Respond to media inquiries in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
• 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, media/public relations, and/or journalism.
• Media Relations: Strong familiarity with the Canadian and U.S. media landscape, including key national, regional, and trade publications, with proven experience pitching stories to Canadian and U.S. media outlets.
• Design: Experience communicating data through visualizations (e.g. tables, graphs, infographics, etc.) and hands-on knowledge of design tools such as Figma and Canva.
• Written communication: Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to tell a clear, compelling story from start to finish using concise, impactful language.
• Quality control: You self-edit and submit only your best work.
• Proactive: You are never idle and love being busy.
• Skills: You are willing to learn and grow beyond your primary functions to develop new skills.
• Resourceful: You don’t have all the answers but you know how to get them. You enjoy and excel at learning and performing research independently.
