Job Description
Tassi Communications is seeking a driven Public Affairs Associate to lead earned media and advocacy campaigns for high-stakes clients across Illinois. Join a boutique agency working on some of the most consequential policy issues of our time — where your work shapes opinion and inspires action.
Position Overview
The Public Affairs Associate will guide earned media and public affairs campaigns, supporting coalition-building and developing strategies that inspire stakeholders, media, and decision-makers. The hybrid role is located in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs and requires two days in-office and occasional travel/on-site client responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead earned media and public affairs campaigns
- Develop messaging, strategy, and tactical plans
- Manage client communications and deliverables
- Track policy, media, issues and stakeholders
- Coordinate execution across multiple projects
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in public affairs, communications, and media relations in Illinois (min. 2-4 years)
- Strong writer, strategic thinker
- Highly organized, able to manage fast-paced work
- Comfortable in a client-facing role
- Excited by work in policy and media
Technical Skills & Tools
- Media monitoring and research tools
- Microsoft Office and presentation development
- Drafting press materials and client-ready documents
- Tracking news, stakeholders, and issue developments
