Responsibilities
- Review engineered mechanical plans and specifications – HVAC, plumbing, piping, gas, and sheet metal
- Construct material takeoff for plumbing, piping and HVAC systems
- Prepare a complete mechanical bid that includes material, labor and other applicable costs
- Coordinate with Purchasing Team members to compile material costs
- Work directly with outside vendors and subcontractors to compile equipment and subcontract costs
- Create, sell and manage planned maintenance contracts
- Account management to include current customer and developing new customers and accounts
- Coordinate with team members to meet bid deadlines
- Communicate the estimation data for review and approval if necessary
- Communicate and coordinate with technicians to create proposals as necessary
- Ability to perform site surveys and equipment evaluations to create proposals for owner direct replacement, redesign and/or retrofit projects
- Ability to present the project to the customer and manage the project as appropriate
- Ability to go to job sites and evaluate work progress and needs. Especially critical for determining ability to meet deadlines and/or work demands
- Provide technical support to technicians
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years mechanical estimating experience preferred
- Mechanical system knowledge should include heating, cooling, air distribution building automation, plumbing and other mechanical systems
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of CAD and BIM
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Office software
- Ability to learn and navigate ERP project management system
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and operations in order to effectively create proposals with new equipment and systems in order to meet customer needs
- Valid Driver’s License
Ability to work in an office environment
Ability to drive a vehicle for the purpose of visiting job sites and customers
