Own copy quality and workflow for Tangerine Press from concept through print, aligning writers, fact checkers, and proofreaders with a tight routing cadence and kid-friendly, accurate content.

  • Coordinate contract talent and set up a centralized review network to keep publishing schedules on track.
  • Own Workfront routing and file management for design, copy, and approvals.
  • Guard copy safety, copyright placement, and product data accuracy across all titles.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage copywriting, fact checking, and proofreading for Tangerine Press products.
  • Develop, evaluate and maintain a roster of contract-based copywriters, fact checkers, and proofreaders appropriate for the Tangerine Press product list
  • Manage all copywriting and proofreading throughout the product development process to ensure high quality, on time delivery of products
  • Final decision-maker on all product and display copy
  • Track and implement corrections for product reprints
  • Ensure proper inclusion and placement of all product safety and Scholastic copyright information.
  • Oversee the product development and proofing routing system (Workfront) and process.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for Workfront; Manage file uploads and routing of product design work and copy
  • Coordinate with designers to establish and meet product routing due dates
  • Monitor product proof routing progress and team responses for keep product proofing on time

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Three (3) years of work or academic experience in product packaging and creative copywriting, copyediting. Experience with marketing products to children is a plus
  • Strong organization, planning skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
  • Proficient computer skills with a focus on MS Office (knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive/SharePoint, and Google Workspace)
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new software

Preferred

  • Experience with marketing products to children is a plus
