Job Summary

entry level PR workflow owner: coordinate media outreach, organize lists, and brief reporters around startup and tech news while learning to iterate pitches and follow-ups.

  • Media outreach foundations: research journalists, maintain lists, segment by beat, and send templated pitches.
  • Campaign coordination: track activity, follow-ups, and assist product-launch outreach and scheduling.
  • Documentation and learning: log responses, update templates, and support briefing materials for consistency.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Research relevant journalists, editors, and outlets in business, tech, and startup media
  • Maintain and organize media lists in a shared tracker
  • Help segment lists by topic, beat, and campaign
  • Send pitches and follow-ups using pre-written messaging and templates
  • Track outreach activity and journalist responses
  • Help ensure consistent and timely follow-up cycles
  • Assist in updating press releases, pitch templates, and briefing documents
  • Light writing support (not strategy creation)
  • Help coordinate media outreach around product launches and announcements
  • Support scheduling and logistics for PR campaigns
  • Maintain simple spreadsheets tracking outreach and coverage
  • Log responses, opens, and placements

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in PR, communications, journalism, or marketing
  • Some exposure to media outreach, pitching, or content creation (internship, agency, or in-house)
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Comfortable working in Google Sheets / Docs and staying highly organized
  • Interest in startups, tech, or branding
  • Willingness to learn, take feedback, and execute consistently

Preferred

  • Internship or assistant experience at a PR agency
  • Exposure to tech/startup clients
  • Familiarity with tools like Cision, Muck Rack, or similar
  • Basic understanding of how journalists and press cycles work
  • Interest in AI, startups, or domain/branding space
