Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Account Manager is the primary day-to-day relationship lead for assigned client accounts, ensuring seamless communication, strategic alignment and exceptional service delivery.
  • Translating strategy into action – interfacing with internal stakeholders to move projects through the agency while maintaining strong client trust and confidence.
  • The Senior Account Manager has major input in developing strategic marketing and communications plans for their clients.
  • Overseeing the execution, maintaining momentum and proactively identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Leadership in public relations initiatives, media strategy and crisis/issues management – ensuring clients are prepared, protected, and positioned appropriately at all times.
  • Strategy, writing and research support - Under the guidance and direction of your supervisor, you will participate in writing and presenting detailed, well-researched integrated marketing and communication plans for your clients. You may assist in conducting research and analysis, developing content strategies, writing findings reports and developing performance reports, case studies and award submissions. You brief internal teams and outside resources on strategy, providing the input they need to complete their jobs.
  • Scope execution - You are involved in the day-to-day workflow and implementation of approved plans and strategies - working with your team to implement research and communications plans and with other specialists to execute strategies beyond your individual capabilities.
  • Budget reviews and project estimating - You will help to prepare budget worksheets/estimates and review project budgets weekly - informing your supervisor regularly of progress and involving them immediately in the event of potential budget problems.
  • Client relationship management – You serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, building trusted relationships rooted in responsiveness, proactive communication and strategic counsel.
  • Public relations and crisis communication leadership – You support and help lead proactive media relations strategies, message development and reputation management efforts for your clients.
  • Project scoping - You will gather information from the client and work with internal and external partners to develop proposals or briefs for new client projects or scopes of work under the guidance of your supervisor.
  • Plan writing - For accounts you lead and support, you will develop and support the development of strategic communications plans using the Kane Way process.
  • Account retention, growth and projections - You will provide exceptional service to your clients and help set annual growth and retention goals, including monthly team resourcing and financial projections.
  • Special projects - work on special projects, as needed.
  • Participate in and attend networking events

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in public relations, marketing, or integrated communications, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client accounts and lead day-to-day communications strategy and execution.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across a variety of formats (media materials, reports, digital content).
  • Experience developing and managing project budgets, timelines, and scopes of work.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive client relationships with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable collaborating across cross-functional teams and managing internal and external partners.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into effective communications plans.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
