Job Summary

Own the media relations cycle end to end, from reporter research and targeted outreach to monitoring coverage and shaping client narratives across integrated programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day media relations efforts, including researching reporters, building targeted media lists, monitoring coverage, drafting pitches, and assisting in proactive outreach.
  • Prepare materials for client media opportunities, including briefing books, messaging, and talking points, and reporter/outlet backgrounders.
  • Draft, edit and proofread core communications materials such as press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, social media copy, and client updates.
  • Conduct industry, market and competitor research across the energy, clean tech and industrials landscape to inform messaging, thought leadership and client strategies.
  • Monitor and summarize relevant news cycles and client-specific issues to support real-time awareness, client updates and media targeting.
  • Assist with content development for digital channels, including drafting social posts, supporting LinkedIn strategies and monitoring engagement metrics.
  • Track media results and compile performance and media coverage reports, analyzing coverage topics and themes, sentiment, and message pull-through.
  • Manage organizational tasks such as maintaining editorial calendars, tracking announcements, and ensuring accurate documentation across account teams.
  • Coordinate logistics across client programs, including scheduling, meeting follow-up, project timelines and supporting team workflows.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to help execute integrated communications programs spanning media relations, investor relations, financial communications, transaction communications, corporate positioning, thought leadership, and issues management.
  • Support new business pitches and business development efforts by contributing research, preparing pitch materials, drafting case studies, and helping develop presentation content.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of relevant agency or client-side PR experience
  • Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments
  • Ability to manage tasks, times, and meet weekly/monthly KPIs
  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
  • Understanding of and/or interest in energy, clean technology and industrial sector trends and evolving PR landscape
  • Previous experience working with energy, clean technology, and industrial companies a plus
  • B.S/B.A. required with concentration in public relations, marketing, business communications or related field preferred
