Job Summary

Own the integrated communications and partnerships workflow for the Estuarium, driving the marketing plan, sponsorship pipeline, donor stewardship systems, and outreach coordination.

  • Lead marketing and communications initiatives
  • Develop and manage the sponsorship pipeline and partnership activities
  • Coordinate donor stewardship and outreach efforts

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead communications and marketing
  • Manage the Estuarium’s marketing plan, brand, website, social media, email, newsletters, graphics, and promotion of programs, events, fundraising initiatives, and visitor experiences. We want communications driven by priorities and results, not simply by the need to produce more content.
  • Develop sponsorship opportunities
  • Construct and manage a year-round sponsorship pipeline. You’ll move through researching sponsors to fulfillment, then stewarding and renewals. The Executive Director will participate in significant relationships and approve major arrangements, but this role owns the machine.
  • Keep donor stewardship moving
  • You won’t be responsible for fundraising strategy, major gifts, or making donor asks. You will run the system behind stewardship like tracking what needs to happen, preparing acknowledgments and communications, prompting the Executive Director when content or action is needed, sending completed correspondence, maintaining records, and making sure donors receive appropriate follow-up and recognition.
  • Coordinate partnership development and outreach
  • You will co-develop an engagement system starting with researching opportunities, maintaining the partnership pipeline, tracking next steps, supporting outreach tabling events, and helping make sure promising relationships continue moving forward. You won’t need to own all partnerships, but managing the process is critical.

Requirements

  • Experience with Canva, Adobe or comparable design tools and website content management in WordPress is important.
  • Experience with Constant Contact and donor or CRM systems like Little Green Light, sponsorships, nonprofit organizations, or community partnerships is very helpful.
  • You may come from communications, marketing, community engagement, nonprofit development, partnerships, sponsorships, advancement, outreach, or a combination of these areas.
  • Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who can see what needs to happen next and move it forward.

Preferred

  • If you already have a graphic design portfolio, feel free to send us a small sample of your work.

Benefits

  • Paid sick leave and other benefits defined by Washington State law.
