Job Description

The Role

As a Healthcare Program Intern at SciTech Scity, you will support the Healthcare Innovation Engine's work with startups, providers, and academia to solve systemic healthcare issues. Your focus will be on developing, evaluating, and implementing digital health technologies to improve health equity, care access, and chronic disease management.


You will gain practical experience in healthcare tech innovation, helping create digital-first healthcare blueprints for local communities. This unique role, reporting to the Senior Director, offers a chance to shape the future of healthcare in a dynamic, multi-stakeholder setting.

What You’ll Do 

  • Assist with coordinating pilot projects with startups, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to deploy digital health technologies.

  • Support the evaluation and analysis of pilot outcomes, focusing on effectiveness, scalability, and health equity.

  • Contribute to the development of an integrated, anonymized data-sharing platform and streamline data collection, developing material to support data governance.

  • Assist in creating digital blueprints and evidence-based case studies for technology implementation in healthcare.

  • Other responsibilities, as assigned


Deliverables

By the end of the internship, you will:

  • Develop a pilot handbook for startups and an application process to guide them through their pilot process.

  • Develop guidelines for data collection for pilots, assessing and analyzing data policies and procedures and working with established hospital frameworks.

  • Lead the creation of a case study draft of one of the pilots.


Preferred Qualifications

  • NJ Academic Requirement:  Must be (1) a current NJ undergraduate or graduate student (2) a recent NJ college graduate (May 2025–May 2026), OR (3) a permanent NJ resident currently enrolled as an undergraduate.

  • Educational and/or professional background in business, health sciences, computer science, marketing, or other related field

  • Basic understanding of the US healthcare system

  • Highly professional and ability to thrive within a team setting

  • Strong attention to detail


Schedule & LocationYou must be available to work an average of 15 hours per week over the course of 10 weeks during the summer. While SciTech Scity’s physical location is being developed, you must be available to work at Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ, on-site on Tuesdays and Thursdays for consecutive 10 week period between May and August during regular business hours (9am-5pm). 

Compensation & PerksThis is a paid part-time internship position compensated at a rate of $20.00 per hour.As an intern you do not receive a full benefits package but are eligible for the following perks:

  • Prolonged Use of Computer Equipment: Sedentary intervals requiring prolonged use of computer systems and other technology, including keyboards and screens, for extended periods to manage systems, analyze data, and sometimes collaborate remotely

  • Physical Activity: Intervals of frequent standing, walking, and moving around the organization to provide onsite event support, assist with equipment setup, and troubleshoot issues in real-time

  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to stay focused and perform tasks under pressure, particularly during live events and in fast-paced environments; must be able to work well in an open floor plan with a moderate degree of noise
