Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Community Outreach and Referral Development
  • Help develop and carry out an outreach plan that supports client growth across Central and Southern Ohio, with clear priorities for the Columbus and Cincinnati offices.
  • Build and maintain referral relationships with hospitals, primary care offices, pain management practices, behavioral health providers, social service agencies, and community partners.
  • Connect with recovery housing operators, shelters, reentry programs, courts, and probation and parole teams to improve access to appropriate treatment and recovery support.
  • Promote BHC recovery housing options and coordinate inquiries with the appropriate staff, providing accurate information about eligibility, openings, and the application process.
  • Conduct partner visits, presentations, informational sessions, and follow-up meetings to explain BHC services and referral procedures.
  • Represent BHC at resource fairs, networking events, community meetings, and public speaking engagements.
  • Work with intake and clinical staff to follow up on inquiries, address barriers to access, and help prospective clients complete the intake process.
  • Marketing and External Communications
  • Create and schedule social media posts, update website content, and prepare newsletters, email campaigns, brochures, and other outreach materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, public health, social work, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • At least one year of experience in community outreach, referral development, healthcare marketing, digital marketing, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build referral partnerships and describe measurable results from outreach or marketing efforts.
  • Strong writing, public speaking, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of social media management, website content, SEO, email marketing, and reporting tools such as Canva, WordPress, Google Analytics, and spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use services and the ability to communicate respectfully with individuals and families seeking care.
  • Ability to organize a regional outreach schedule, work independently, collaborate across offices, and consistently follow through with partners.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned service area. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required when driving for work.

Preferred

  • Two or more years of relevant outreach or marketing experience in a behavioral health or healthcare setting.
  • Experience supporting outpatient mental health, substance use treatment, IOP, MAT, recovery housing, or behavioral health services for chronic pain.
  • Established professional relationships with referral sources in Central or Southern Ohio.
  • Experience coordinating with admissions teams, using customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and evaluating marketing performance.
  • Experience with recovery housing partnerships, media relations, short-form video editing, or managing paid digital advertising.
