Job Description

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:

The Baseball Communications & Media Relations department for the Boston Red Sox serves as the liaison between the media and the club for all team-related public relations. This includes all team-specific baseball information, interview requests, game credentialing, and production of daily game information.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role provides day-to-day operational support to the Baseball Communications & Media Relations department, assisting the Senior Director and team members in executing all team-related public relations, including interview requests, credentialing, baseball information, and the production of daily game information and other press materials.

The base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 based on relevant experience. Additionally, this position qualifies for annual incentive pay along with our comprehensive benefits package.  

\nRESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support daily media operations by assisting with credentialing workflows, tracking requests, and helping ensure timely responses to media inquiries.
  • Assist with press box operations for home games, including seating coordination and distribution of game materials.
  • Help prepare and distribute daily game notes, lineup sheets, and other media materials.
  • Compile daily media clips for internal distribution.
  • Help maintain organization of media materials, credentialing records, and internal resources.
  • Provide general operational and administrative support to the Senior Director and department staff as needed.
  • Assist with additional projects and responsibilities in support of departmental needs.
CHARACTERISTICS / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in a communication-related field preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Sharp technical skills and aptitude for learning new applications.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Must be able work hours consistent with MLB schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
