  • Build and maintain a Chicago creator network and manage partnerships
  • Coordinate appearances, content creation, and rapid-response opportunities
  • Engage local online communities to extend reach beyond politics

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a working database of Chicago-based creators, influencers, and local accounts, segmented by geography, community, audience size, and issue affinity
  • Develop and execute paid and organic creator partnerships, including briefing creators, coordinating content review, and tracking deliverables
  • Serve as primary point of contact for partners, managing expectations, timelines, and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate and staff creator access to the candidate: content shoots, ride-alongs, event coverage, and rapid-response opportunities
  • Identify and engage non-political creators — food, sports, music, comedy, neighborhood, small business — where the campaign can reach voters outside the political conversation
  • Pitch and book the candidate on podcasts, video shows, and streaming appearances; coordinate with the Communications team on prep materials and message guidance
  • Work with the digital team to clip, package, and distribute appearance content across campaign channels
  • Develop relationships with volunteers, neighborhood pages, community Facebook groups, ward-level accounts, Reddit communities, and other local online spaces where Chicago political conversation actually happens
  • Monitor local online conversations and respond to moments accordingly

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in social media, influencer marketing, audience development, digital organizing, or content creation; campaign, advocacy, or nonprofit experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining creator or influencer relationships that produced measurable results
  • Deep, current knowledge of the platforms that matter: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Substack, podcasts, and whatever is emerging by the time you read this
  • Fluency in Chicago — its neighborhoods, communities, media, sports, and internet culture. You should know which accounts move the city and which just have followers
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to pitch persuasively and briefly
  • Ability to juggle multiple workstreams under rapid-response, high-pressure conditions
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action; this is a build-it-yourself role
  • Basic video production or editing skills, even at a scrappy level
  • Commitment to Democratic and progressive values and to Alexi's campaign vision

Benefits

  • Health insurance
