Job Description
This Role Is Not for Everyone
This is not a job where you sit behind a desk, wait for assignments, and simply complete tasks.
This role is also not a traditional newsroom job. You will not be chasing breaking news every day or working inside a broadcast newsroom. You will be using your newsroom experience inside a fast-moving media company that serves clients.
That means you will need to balance storytelling, production, client communication, deadlines, travel, and details.
This role may not be a fit if:
- You do not enjoy working directly with clients
- You are uncomfortable guiding executives, guests, or subject-matter experts through a production process
- You need every step explained before taking action
- You struggle with fast deadlines or shifting priorities
- You prefer to only write, only produce, or only edit
- You are not comfortable traveling for shoots, interviews, or client productions
- You do not like being responsible for both the creative quality and the production details
- You are uncomfortable asking good questions, organizing information, and turning scattered ideas into clear content
At Speakerbox Media, we need someone who can think like a multi-media business journalist, communicate like a professional, and operate like an owner.
The Big Picture
Speakerbox Media helps brands, executives, and organizations create high-quality podcast, video, and multimedia content that builds authority and trust.
We are looking for a Multimedia Journalist who can bring the speed, judgment, and storytelling discipline of a newsroom into a modern media company.
You will help turn ideas, interviews, client stories, and industry conversations into clear, compelling multimedia content across video, audio, digital, and social platforms.
The Purpose of This Role
The purpose of this role is to help Speakerbox Media create content that is organized, thoughtful, polished, and drives business results for our B2B clients.
You will help clients prepare for production, identify the strongest story angles, support the production process, and help turn recorded conversations into finished content assets.
When this role is done well, clients feel prepared and confident, projects move forward without confusion, and Speakerbox Media produces stronger content with less bottlenecking.
What You Will Own
You will help identify, shape, produce, and package multimedia stories for Speakerbox Media and our clients.
This includes:
- Leading a team of 20+ creative specialists
- Researching clients, topics, industries, guests, and subject matter
- Finding the strongest story angle inside an interview, podcast, campaign, or client idea
- Preparing interview questions, production briefs, client notes, and talking points
- Writing scripts, summaries, captions, articles, show notes, and promotional copy
- Interfacing directly with clients before, during, and after production
- Helping clients, executives, and guests feel comfortable and prepared on camera or behind the microphone
- Supporting podcast, video, and on-site productions
- Traveling up to 25% of the time for client shoots, interviews, events, and productions
- Helping turn long-form conversations into short-form clips, written takeaways, and social content
- Coordinating with producers, editors, strategists, and clients to keep work moving
- Maintaining organized workflows, production notes, deadlines, and project details
Why Newsroom Experience Matters
We want someone with newsroom experience because newsroom producers understand pressure, deadlines, story structure, and editorial judgment.
You know how to take scattered information and turn it into something clear.
You know how to move quickly without losing accuracy.
You know how to ask better questions, find the point, and make content easier for an audience to understand.
At Speakerbox Media, you will use those same skills in a brand-driven, client-facing environment.
You Are a Strong Fit If You
- Love covering topics related to business and technology
- Have 2+ years of newsroom producer experience
- Have a degree in Marketing, Multimedia, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Can write clearly, quickly, and accurately
- Know how to identify a compelling story angle
- Are comfortable working directly with clients and executives
- Can guide conversations with confidence and professionalism
- Understand video, audio, digital, and social content
- Can manage multiple projects without losing track of the details
- Are comfortable traveling up to 25% of the time
- Can follow a system without needing to be micromanaged
- Care about creating media that is polished, strategic, and useful
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means Speakerbox Media has a steady flow of well-produced stories, interviews, video segments, written content, and multimedia assets.
Clients feel prepared.
Production teams have what they need.
Editors are not left guessing.
Projects stay organized.
Content has a clear angle, purpose, and audience.
You help reduce confusion, create momentum, and make the entire production process smoother.
Required Experience
- 2+ years of newsroom producer experience
- Degree in Marketing, Multimedia, Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience supporting multimedia production across video, audio, digital, or social platforms

- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
