This internship is designed to be completed for academic credit through the student’s college or university, subject to school approval. Applicants should be able to obtain internship credit or participate through an academic internship program. Duration is 10 weeks, part-time, remote with 10–15 hours per week.

The purpose is to provide structured learning and supervised exposure to streaming operations. This remote internship is designed as a supervised and instructional educational experience. The intern will work under close supervision and mentorship. Regular check-ins and structured guidance will be provided. The internship includes observation, instruction, and feedback as core components.

This internship is centered around three core learning objectives:

1. Content Operations

Students will learn how streaming platforms organize, prepare, and manage titles behind the scenes. This includes exposure to the workflows by which films, episodes, music videos, and channels move from delivery and review into structured platform systems.

2. Content Strategy

Students will learn how streaming services think about content presentation, organization, audience relevance, and catalog planning. This includes understanding how titles are positioned to support discoverability, user experience, and engagement.

3. Live TV Scheduling

Students will learn the basics of FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) scheduling,  the process of organizing and programming always-on channel lineups for digital streaming audiences. This includes exposure to how channels are structured, how timing and programming choices shape the viewing experience, and how streaming services think about live and linear-style content operations.

Over the course of the internship, the student will receive supervised exposure to:

  • how streaming content moves from licensing and delivery into platform workflows
  • how metadata, artwork, synopses, genres, ratings, and other title information affect platform presentation
  • how content libraries are reviewed, organized, and maintained within streaming systems
  • how content strategy supports discoverability and the front-end user experience
  • how streaming platforms think about catalog structure, title grouping, and audience engagement
  • how FAST channels are scheduled and managed in a modern streaming environment
  • how market, catalog, and audience information can be interpreted in a streaming context

Educational Learning Areas

This internship is intended to help students build foundational knowledge in:
